Baz Ashmawy wants mammy Nancy to give him away at upcoming wedding

TV star Baz Ashmawy wants his beloved mother Nancy to give him away at his upcoming wedding to long-term love Tanja Evans.

The 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy star popped the question in 2015, but the pair are in no rush to walk up the aisle.

But when they do, Baz knows exactly who he wants by his side - his mother and co-star Nancy.

"I would be honoured if my mum gave me away. She is my whole family," he told the Irish Sun.

"My mother is keen I get married because I have daughters and it would be nice for them if their parents are married and my mum also gets on well with my missus."

The couple have been together since 2006 and have six children.

They are parents to Hannah (6) and four-year-old Mahy, and Baz is stepfather to Tanja's four children from a previous relationship, Charlotte (19), Harry (18), Jake (14) and Amelia (12).

Baz added that the nuptials will "be something we will just sneak off and do" rather than holding a lavish bash and selling the photos for a lucrative magazine deal.

It's in keeping with his proposal - the former RTE star said last year he was engaged and managed to keep it secret for months.

Speaking previously, Baz said Tanja was "very different" to any woman he had met before.
