With the comfort of anonymity in the digital age, we've been hearing more and more horror stories from disgruntled guests and bridal party members. First, there was the newlyweds who demanded a better gift from one of their wealthier guests and now, we meet a bridesmaid who was told to dye her hair brown to match the rest of the bridal party.
Because that's how it works.
A Reddit user wrote about her predicament at her friend Ella's upcoming nuptials.
Soon after she was asked to be bridesmaid, "Ella" sent this email: "You’ll need to dye your hair for the day, I’ll take you to my hairdresser and cover the cost :)."
The woman has yet to responded to the bride-to-be and expressed her shock at being asked to change her hair.
“This had never been mentioned to me. I’m a natural ginger, so it’s not like I have an outrageous hair color. although Ella and her other bridesmaids are all brunettes," she wrote.
"[Ella] also mentioned my hair is quite ‘attention-grabbing’ and I’d take away from the cohesiveness of the group."
“Am I being reasonable here? I’ve never been involved in a wedding before so I’m not quite sure what’s expected of me. I’ve gotten some messages from the other bridesmaids who are telling me I should just do it.”
Needless to say, the answers were spectacular.
“Is this a joke? Heck no. Especially going from red to brown; you might not ever get your natural color back," one said.
“You are not being unreasonable at all! I’m planning my wedding now, and I’d NEVER ask bridesmaids to dye their hair! This is bridezilla-level s***,” another wrote, “like she’s scared of being upstaged by her ‘maids, so she’s making crazy demands," another wrote.
