Engagement rings have come a long way in recent years and with so many different cuts, styles and stones to choose from, these days there's truly something for every hand.
One of the most exciting directions certain design houses have been going recently is collaborating with some of the biggest bridal designers in the industry to create beautiful ring collections that reflect the innate styles of the designers who create them. Kate Middleton fave Jenny Packham launched her second collaboration with UK jewellery designers Goldsmiths late last year, while Monique Lhuillier was one of the first to try her hand at fine jewellery when she joined forces with Blue Nile in the US way back in 2012 and continues to turn out new designs to high acclaim.
Of course with so many incredible designers on the Emerald Isle, it was only a matter of time before a diamond ring specialist got the idea to pair up collaborate on a collection...
That jewellers was leading Irish jewellery store Fields, and the designer, top bridal couturier Kathy de Stafford, whose brand new line of fine jewellery - including a stunning range of engagement and wedding rings - launched in stores and online this month.
Divided into three distinct collections - Signature, Statement and (our favourite!) Vintage - each collection features a range of diamond rings set in 18ct white gold. And for that designer touch, a beautiful topaz blue stone adorns the shank of each ring, reflecting Kathy's signature brand colour and acting as a little 'something blue' for the bride for her big day and beyond.
"For a couture designer, jewellery is an intrinsic part of that window into the bride’s inner self," said multi-award winning designer Kathy.
"I was always fascinated by the myriad of ring designs chosen by my brides, and I wanted to become involved in the creation of this special ring that would be worn every day of a bride’s life."

When she was approached by Fields, Kathy said she was most excited about the openness of the design process, citing the jeweller's shared experience with Irish brides as big push towards a partnership.
"I love the fact that, like me, Fields are an Irish company that have been looking after Irish brides for nearly four decades.," she said.
"Importantly, as I worked with them I found that we think, create and work well as a unit. That’s not just creative, it’s also fun which is a critical part of creativity.”
"Kathy’s profile as one of the country’s leading bridal designers, coupled with her emphasis on luxurious, quality design, make her the perfect fit for us," said Natasha Gregory, Product Director at Fields the Jeweller added.
"I am extremely proud of our collaboration with Kathy. From concept to the finished designs, it has been an absolute pleasure for my team and I to be part of this exciting project. We’re all very excited to welcome Kathy to the Fields family."
Kathy de Stafford for Fields is available exclusively at Fields the Jeweller stores nationwide now. Each piece is also available in yellow or rose gold by special order. Prices for the collection range from €995 to €4500.
