Bridal Fashion Week: Theia's gorgeous bridal collection has landed with a new plus-size range

Irish designer Don O’Neill has unveiled a new collection of plus-size bridal gowns as part of his fashion line THEIA.

The plus size capsule collection, available in sizes 20 - 24, will feature six of THEIA‟s best-selling designs in a range of styles, fabrics and silhouettes.

Options include a fitted crepe mermaid gown with a cowl back, several signature beaded designs, a traditional long sleeve corded lace gown, an ethereal full skirted tulle ball gown and a sleek sleeveless satin and crepe gown.

“Inclusiveness is really important to us here at THEIA,” O’Neill said on the new line, calling it “a natural progression”.

“I have long been a proponent of dressing women of all sizes, having created custom gowns for Oprah Winfrey and Gabourey Sidibe for the Oscars as well as creating red carpet gowns for gorgeous full figured stars such as Rebel Wilson, Ashley Graham and Danielle Brooks.”

The fall collection aims to take bridalwear in a more sultry direction, with illusion bodices featuring strategic glass and crystal embroideries. Elsewhere, satin is given a new twist in a sexy jumpsuit.

The romantic whimsy of the THEIA bride is captured in 3-D floral appliqués and embroideries, soft Chantilly lace bodices and Spanish tulle skirts while the shapes and silhouettes remain clean and simple. Colour also remains an important trend with cloud blues and blush pinks appearing throughout the collection.

The collection will hit Lovely Bride stores in the US in January 2018 and will retail between €1,700 - €2,100. Established in 2009, the THEIA collection is now carried in over 400 stores globally.
