Which is why when Grafton Academy graduate Aida Silva's designs came across the desk here at THEVOW HQ, we were instantly intrigued.
And, as you can see. Aida didn't disappoint.
The Spanish-born designer, who studied fashion at the Grafton Academy in Dublin, has created a chic capsule collection for the modern bride, where clean lines and delicate details are the main focus.
Aida has had an interest in style and fashion since childhood. Growing up in the southern Spanish town of Cadiz, she spent her teens becoming increasingly enamoured with the mix of vibrant cultures and colours of her surroundings.
However fashion wasn't the first port of call for Aida, and it wasn't until she was in her thirties that she finally decided to pursue her dream of becoming a designer.
After three years studying in Dublin's Grafton Academy, Aida continued her fellowship in the Paris and Barcelona where she discovered a penchant for feminine, structured designs, clean embellishments and fine fabrics.
Returning to Dublin to develop her brand, Aida now designs bespoke gowns for 'strong yet delicate' brides, who share her passion for timeless elegance and quality couture.
In December 2017 Aida launched her capsule collection, which features a range of modern gowns with a hint of vintage, all displaying the designer's penchant for fine materials and fabrics and precision detailing.
Dresses start at €2,000 and go up to €4,000 while bespoke designs are based on style, fabrics and time. Visit aidasilva.com for more on her collection and made-to-measure wedding and evening gowns.
