This woman made a fascinator out of a shower puff and it was perfect

When Meghan Markle stepped out for a wedding last week in a beautiful, billowing blue summer maxi she was also making quite the statement with her choice of headpiece.

While the new Duchess usually opts for a cocktail of couture and cool indy designers for her trend-setting getups, this time she took a leaf out of her sister-in-regal-chic Kate Middleton's book by introducing a little 'high street' in her rigout.

A white bow and net fascinator from quintessential English store M&S (which renamed some of its branches 'Markle and Sparkle' in honour of the British royal wedding earlier this year) adorned Meghan's crown, and while many applauded the trend-setting American for her budget-friendly accessories, others mused over its apparent similarities with a common household item.

Which may well have inspired one woman's latest sartorial discovery...

The humble shower puff is the latest wedding accessory to come into vogue, as one party guest recently found herself championing the look when simply nothing else would do - and people are loving it.

Lilian Smith proudly posed in her truly fascinating fascintor for Take a Break magazine, accompanying her snap with a letter pointing out the simplicity of her make and do project.

"I wanted something fetching to wear in my hair," explaned Lilian, who couldn't find anything she liked in the traditional hat and hair accessory realm, "seeing a bath puff in the exact shade I was looking for gave me an idea."

"I attached it to a hair clip and put it in my hair. Job done. It matched my outfit perfectly and looked great."

Twitter users have applauded Lilian's budget-friendly idea, calling it 'outstanding' and taking 'hats off' to her '200% creativity'.

If you're taking a leaf out of Lil's book we'd say to buy the bath puff fresh so you're not stuck with any soap build up from an oldie.

We're just hoping now that the magazine invites Lilian back for a #lilslifehacks column in the future!
