Mairead Farrell reveals honeymoon destination is still a surprise

Broadcaster Mairead Farrell might be marrying in two weeks, but she's still in the dark about one thing - her honeymoon.

The Today FM star was speaking on The Ian Dempsey Show this morning, which she produces, divulging details about wedding on June 5 to businessman Louis Ronan.

The pair became engaged last August after three years together and will be exchanging vows in Co Tipperary in a matter of weeks.

But the mother-of-one said she's taken a laid-back approaching to organising the big day and her other half has taken over most of the planning.

"Louis has organised an awful lot of the wedding," she said on the breakfast show this morning.

"I've been in charge of the music and I haven't picked the church music yet, the order of what we're doing it in."

And Louis is pulling out all the stops to ensure she has the wedding of her dreams, including surprising her with their honeymoon destination.

"I don't know where I'm going, it's a surprise," she explained.

Mairead will be joined by Dempsey and her Today FM colleagues Anton Savage and Paul Collins for the big day, where her eight-year-old son Dara will be taking on the role of best man.

"Little Dara is best man," she previously explained. "He’s been practising his speech at home, I’m the only one who’s heard it…he wrote it himself.

"They had a stag party here in Dublin. Dara organised it – they went to the secret cinema across the road from Brooks Hotel to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there was about 12 of them on it."

Mairead marked her hen party last month in Galway with close friends and family.
