The Steelers running back wed his long-term love and mother of his three children Risalyn Burzynski in a zombie themed wedding Rick Grimes would approve of.
The couple exchanged vows at The Peabody Hotel in his native Memphis, Tennessee and gave onlookers more than just a few celebrity sightings but a full on return on the living dead-themed nuptials - complete with fake blood.
Williams shared his unique wedding video with ESPN, saying he got the inspiration to mix his favourite tv show with his big day during his traditional engagement photoshoot.
“I’m a huge Walking Dead fan,” he explained in the video. "I wanted to do engagement photos of us being chased by zombies and we didn’t have time because it was during season and we didn’t have the opportunity, so [my wife, Risalyn] was like, ‘How are you going to pull that off?’”
While his wife was up for it from the beginning, she said her bridesmaids needed more convincing to go zombie glam for the day.
"It’s a time for us to laugh and … say, ‘Ha, you look goofy,’” he told ESPN. "It gives us a chance to step outside our comfort zone and put on our acting skills, whether we possess them or not.”
"It is a dream come true,! he added. "What makes it even more magical is not only did I become a walker, I became a husband."
