They chatted into the night and swapped numbers but two weeks went by before Teresa decided to casually stroll by Shane's workplace to see if he was in - he was, and after a chat about movies, a lingering hug sealed the deal and Shane asked her out two days later.
In 2013 Shane whisked Teresa away for a three-day break in Kildare and in their luxury suite, amongst flowers, candles and champagne, a very surprised Teresa discovered the words 'Will you marry me?' spelled out on a Scrabble board.
The couple held a humanist ceremony in The Angler's Rest at Dublin's Strawberry Beds after falling in love with its exposed brick and wooden beams.
"The country pub-style interior just ticked all the boxes. It was close to the city but felt far away," says Teresa.
Shane got crafty a year before the wedding collecting pine cones in the Botanic Gardens for table decorations, as well as making origami birds and hand-stringing them onto a ceremony arch. They used a blank jigsaw puzzle as the guest book, so guests could sign individual pieces. Teresa bought her dress online from diydress.co.uk and her shoes from Oasis, sparkling them up with vintage shoe clips.
After their beautiful day the couple have planned a two-week honeymoon to Thailand in January 2016.
