When she returned, Aaron's cooking skills won Aileen over on their first date and the rest is history. Aaron proposed in 2015 on the grounds of Blarney Castle, with the couple's daughter, Olivia, there. "It was such an unbelievable surprise that I was in shock for days, he even chose the ring without me, which I really couldn't believe," says Aileen.
The pair opted for a humanist ceremony at Horetown House, Co Wexford, a venue they fell in love with after attending a wedding there previously. Three-year-old Olivia was involved as much as possible in the ceremony, including in the sand pouring and hand-fasting traditions, which the couple found very emotional.
Aileen and Aaron chose a colour palette with soft pastel tones and, owing to the fact that Aileen was once a florist, the pair placed emphasis on the flower arrangements for the day.
The groom sourced his Gibson London suit from Fitzgerald Menswear, Waterford, and the bridesmaids wore Elle & Eman dresses which were sourced online via Instagram, while the bride found her Claire Pettibone dress in Myrtle Ivory in Dublin.
Not wanting to go too far without their little one, Aaron and Aileen honeymooned in Rhodes, Greece, where they soaked up the sun for a week after their Big Day.
