James may have grown up in Singapore but when he moved to Dublin with his Irish mum to start secondary school, little did he know he would meet the love of his life there.
One day after school, at the tender age of 15, James met Ellie at a shop between their respective schools and the pair soon became an item. Ellie, now a nurse, and James, who works in IT recruitment, recently moved to Melbourne together along with their two-year-old daughter, Tilly.
Last November, James' well-planned proposal was nearly compromised when his picnic by a lake in Daylesford, Australia, was gatecrashed by some feathery fiends.
"Half-way through the proposal we were interrupted by a family of hungry geese who chased us away from our picnic. And James had left the ring in his coat back at the picnic. We eventually picked up the courage to go back, grab our things and then James finished the proposal in a 'safer' spot," says Ellie.
Ellie and James decided to get married in Ireland having a Catholic wedding at Cullahill church, Laois, before holding their reception at Castle Durrow just down the road. There, the couple opted for a tower of cheeses for their guests instead of having a traditional cake.
The bride found her dream gown in Baccini and Hill, Melbourne and the bridesmaids' dresses were also found in Melbourne.
Ellie and James took a relaxing honeymoon break in Provence and Antibes, France - where they happily ate cheese with every meal - after their big day.
