While playing for the men's and women's teams in the Championship, the pair began chatting outside Irish Murphy's pub and they've been together ever since.
Stephen popped the question after taking Anne-Therese on a romantic break in Noosa, Queensland, for her birthday. Thinking he was just taking her out for dinner that night, Stephen surprised Anne-Therese with a trip on a gondola complete with a rose, chocolates and champagne before getting down on bended knee.
The pair decided to plan for a wedding at home in Ireland and organised a Catholic ceremony in St. Patrick's Church in Celbridge, Co Kildare. After doing some research - with the help of friends and family in Ireland - this couple knew Carton House was their ideal venue.
Instead of traditional wedding favours Stephen and Anne-Therese decided to donate money to Cancer Research on behalf of each guest. Anne-Therese says: "Stephen and I have both lost family members to cancer so this was important to us both."
For their honeymoon, Anne-Therese put her faith in Stephen to plan a surprise and it couldn't have worked out better. The pair jetted off to the Maldives, only to be picked up by speed boats which whisked them off to Centara Ras Fushi Resort and Spa. "It was heaven," says Anne-Therese.
