"James was so nervous he barely spoke beforehand and when he produced the ring, he went silent. I had to ask him what he wanted," says Emily.
The couple chose to have two special days; they held a church ceremony for their families and the following day, a bigger outdoor ceremony for family and friends.
The bride found her dress in The Bridal Studio in Drogheda while the groom was suited in Hugo Boss from House of Fraser.
At their outdoor celebration the pair had a handfasting ceremony, where guests came to tie ribbons around the couple's joined hands to seal their union. The rest of the day was a garden party and barbecue at Rosedale House in Shankill, Co Dublin. "We had great control over the details of our day," says Emily. "The house had beautiful gardens for the ceremony."
The pair were more than happy to get creative for the day, researching online and making decorations with the help of the wedding party. The couple created table pieces and decorated mason jars. James' mum Julie made gingham table runners and bunting to match, while his sister made the wedding cake with a personalised cake-topper.
Emily and James honeymooned in Barcelona for a week after the wedding but have also just been on a longer honeymoon exploring Thailand and Cambodia.
