The model and her baseball player partner had originally planned to tie the knot on the first weekend on November, however when Justin's team went to Game 7 of the World Series, they had to change their plans, arriving in Italy later than they had hoped.
Their friends and family had already made the trip however, Kate told Jimmy Fallon when she returned to the States, and sent funny messages to the couple about enjoying the celebrations without the bride and groom.
"Everybody is in Italy! Everyone is at the venue!" she joked on The Tonight Show, "we had an event that night and everyone’s texting us, saying your wedding is so pretty. Wish you were here!
"We got taken around our wedding via FaceTime!” added Justin.
Justin's Houston Astros team eventually went on to win the game, in a thrilling defeat of the Dodgers in Los Angeles, and the couple managed to catch up on their own weekend of wedding celebrations after.
Kate finally shared some of the stunning pictures of her dream day on Instagram, after the photos were exclusively featured online by Vogue magazine.
Their photos, shot by celebrity wedding photographer KT Merry, show the couple kissing under a beautiful floral arch with petals strewn across the ground after their wedding ceremony. Another pic shared by the photographer shows the newlyweds exchanging vows with breathtaking views of the rolling Tuscan hills in the background, with their bridesmaids looking on from the first and second row.
The couple tied the knot in the upscale Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco resort, with views across the Montalcino Valley.
“It was really important to Justin and me that it feel like we were on vacation with our closest friends and family,” Kate told Vogue.
“We set up an entire afternoon dedicated to interactive games, which we called the Uplander Olympics. Each guest received game-day rules, and everyone was divided into teams with custom Under Armour jerseys. The games included a ping-pong tournament, cornhole, a football toss, relay races, and an epic water balloon fight!”
The model and actress stunned in a long sheer and lace-applique sleeved gown by Valentino, and wore her hair in loose curls parted on the side. A striking mantilla style veil finished off her princess look, and cascaded down to a full train which ran passed her gown.
“I had such a great time creating the fashion story for my wedding weekend!” she said.
“For my ceremony dress, I had the pleasure of collaborating with the fantastic team at Valentino. They are the best at creating delicate, beautiful lace and details, and their Italian heritage kept the fashion and feel authentic to our venue. The design process was extremely collaborative, so I was able to really include my personal style and create my dream dress.”
Her pitcher husband Justin donned a dark tuxedo and bow tie, while the bridesmaids were mismatched in different styles of blush-coloured gowns.
The Other Woman actress and the star pitcher dated on and off for five years. They were spotted holidaying together in St. Thomas in January, 2013, but split later that year before rekindling their romance in early 2014.
Kate announced the couple's engagement in May, 2016 at the Met Gala in New York City, showing off a huge diamond sparkler and telling reporters, "I'm really excited. He asked me right before (baseball) season started so we've been keeping it on the down low for quite a while... I'm excited to finally be able to share it with the world!"
"He did amazing," Kate said about her fiancé's engagement ring choice. "He knew that I would be wearing it every single day, so he did all of this research behind the ring, and he almost had like a mood board set out that he was looking at and what he thought I would like."
