Newlywed blogger Holly White reveals why she won't be changing her name

"That's who I am"

TV stylist Holly White has revealed that she opted to buck tradition when it came to her recent wedding to businessman Andrew Wynne.

In addition to making her own speech at her lavish wedding to the Dragon's Den entrepreneur in Mount Juliet last month, the blogger and former actress (32) has also opted not to take her husband's name.

"I'm staying as Holly White," she told the Herald. "I think, each to their own, but personally, for me, that's who I am and that is my name.

"Interestingly, there's only three letters' difference."

"My name is White and he's Wynne, but I felt that I wanted to stay Holly White and that's it - but I totally respect whatever anyone wants to do."

Holly described the day itself as "absolutely phenomenal", despite it pouring rain.

"I woke up and it was lashing rain, which definitely did throw me," she said.

"We had gone from the Friday, which was one of the sunniest days of the year, to bucketing down the next day with rain.

"But what I will say is that everything that everyone says is true - that it is such a special and emotional day.

"Even though you plan so much of it and you know what's going to happen, it still surprises you in every which way.

"I have to admit it was just amazing and we have such lovely, happy memories. It all goes by in a blur."

The social media star, whose brother Rob is married to Andrea Roche, said that she was glad that they splashed out on some of the wedding extras, like a videographer.

Holly also took the opportunity to stand up and make her own wedding speech in front of her guests.

"I guess that everyone has different budget constraints, but I'm so pleased we had a videographer because I'm looking forward to just catching all the moments I may have missed and re-hearing all the speeches," she said.

"I made my own little speech, which I'm really pleased about.

"There's very few times in your life that you're going to have everyone you love and care for in the same room at the same time, and it's lovely to say those special words."

Holly said she and husband Andrew celebrated their wedding with a few days' holidaying in Lisbon, but they are saving the big honeymoon splurge until Christmas.

"We're hoping to go to Thailand at Christmas," said Holly.

"We put things on the long finger until after the wedding, and now we have to accept that the wedding's over and we'll just have to move on."
