Twilight star Robert Pattinson (29) was the unexpected guest of honour at an Irish couple's wedding reception in Holywood, Co Down on Sunday.
The actor was enjoying some quiet drinks in Culloden Hotel where the reception was being held when one brave guest approached him and asked him would he like to join the celebrations for a bit.
Guest James Reid told Belfast Live the actor was "taken aback by it" but was a good sport as newlyweds Tom and Sarah Lenihan marked their first day as husband and wife.
"I plucked up the courage and went over and said he was going to get mobbed by about 20 girls, he is such a quiet guy and he was a bit taken back by it, all these girls," James said.
"In fairness, he sat and got his pictures taken until the Culloden staff came and moved him on."
Pattinson is currently filming The Lost City of Z in Co Down, with co-stars Sienna Miller and Charlie Hunnam, and is expected to join revellers at Electric Picnic on Sunday, where his fiancée FKA Twigs is performing.
In another twist of celebrity fate, they also ran into The Script frontman Danny O'Donoghue, who was in town ahead of the band's gig at Tennent's Vital later that night.
“We came in the main entrance and bumped into Danny from The Script. He was a really nice guy and went out and got pictures with everyone," James added.
"He was really sound and down to earth and spent a lot of time with everyone. The rest of his band and crew were there but kept to themselves,”
