The dress, although similar in ways to her sister's in silhouette and fabric, was a more contemporary take on the classic ball gown, with a longer, almost t-shirt style bodice and heavy A-line skirt.
A bespoke creation by British designer Giles Deacon, the dress was also something not many had predicted - instead, style spotters were tipping that the athletic 33-year-old might go for a style reminiscent of her iconic bridesmaid look for her big sister's wedding in 2011.
Many brides-to-be are already inspired by Pippa's perfect modern bridal style, and the great news is you don't have to be personal friends with a world-renowned designer to get your hands on something similar!
Bridal design house Eddy K which specialises in ball gowns and mermaid styles carries a high neck, capped sleeve lace dress that's almost the double of the one worn by the beautiful bride when she married fiancé James Matthews.
The similarities took the designer by surprise who tweeted, "We can't help but notice all the similarities between PippaMiddleton's wedding dress and our very own EK1025."
Unfortunately it seems that stockists for Eddy K Bridal are all located in the US, so until they find a home in one of the bridal boutiques in London, brides will have a hard time getting their hands on one.
Designers such as Pronovias, Enzoani, Rosa Clara and, for a boho take on the look, Temperley London, all have gowns with aspects of the now famous style Giles Deacon and can be found in bridal boutiques all over the country.
The best way to achieve the Pippa look however may be to opt for a sleeveless dress and wear a high neck, capped sleeve lace bolero over it - and get your 'reception dress look' for a bargain!
